Day 1 (April 3) - Costa Rica

We made through the Immigration & Customs in Costa Rica. We now officially start our first day in this new country. This is our first international travel!

Rent-A-Car
After doing our research, we finally decided that renting a car was a better option for us. There is an Alamo here! Below was the shuttle service that took us to Alamo.  The process of renting a car took a while. We have a car and GPS. We are ready to go!

First Stop!
Breakfast at Marriott, San Jose. After hours of traveling and little sleep, the breakfast buffet hits the spot!

We were all tired. After almost 24 hours without a good sleep.

Coffee Bean Game
Coffee bean production is big in Costa Rica, in the hotel you see several coffee bean used as part of  their ornaments. Kids were creative that made a game out of the coffee bean they picked up. They call this the Tic-Tac-Toe coffee bean game.

Gallo Pinto
Gallo Pinto a traditional dish when you are here. For breakfast we tried it for the first time. And we love it. We asked the server how to prepare this. The secret was the salsa-Lizano!
The recipe:
Saute onions oil and a little butter, add red pepper, add the rice and beans, and the secret ingredient - Lizano Salsa! Mix mix all the ingredients and add cilantro at the end.  YUM!

The Hotel Grounds
Here were some pictures at the we took a the hotel grounds.

Pura Vida!

Spanish for "pure life."

The law of the land in Costa Rica. The expression is used in many forms, from a greeting, to a synonym for "excellent." Ticos follow this lifestyle and are some of the most wonderful people on earth. A synonym of "hakuna matata." Life is wonderful; enjoy i

We Made It!

The family made it safely to Costa Rica! The passengers in the our 10:55 PM flight last night were  a bit loud. There were 2 groups of high school kids that were going to Costa Rica for their "field trip". They we're loud! Despite of the noise, all of us were able to get a few hours of sleep. Ready to explore Costa Rica.

This is the closest sunrise view I that I took when we were getting ready to land.

 So close to Costa Rica.

Here just landed!

Welcome to Costa Rica kids!

The Ocelot!

This is one of the animals that wanted to see when we are Costa Rica.

There happen to be a picture of the ocelot when we were walking out of the airport.

Easter Break

One more day of school for the kids and easter break starts!

To kick off the easter break, we changed the breakfast routine from having just milk and cereals at home to ordering breakfast Chick-fillet. Although I wasn't pleased with how much they ate, it was still a nice break from their routine.

And they were off to school!
