Gramma's Birthday

Today was Gramma's Birthday. The kids went to see gramma and took her to lunch at La Trattoria Bohemia. Here were some pics taken during that day.

Right next to the restaurant was an antique store.  I told John that we would check out the antique store after lunch to see if they have some Legos. So we went to the store. As we went in the store, there was a family with kids that went out of the store. When we were in the store, John politely asked the staff if they have legos at the the store. The lady said you just missed the lego by a minute. The family that left just bought the lego that have in the store. The lady said that the Lego they had in the store has been sitting in the store for a couple of years. Then here were 2 interested buyers in just one day.

After that, we were in a search for Legos. We went to several antique stores to hunt for the legos. Unfortunately, we did not find any. Sorry John.

While we were antique shopping, Kitty ran into this device. She was so surprised to find out that it as a phone! I had to explain to her that his was the "iPhone" many many years ago. I have to show her how to use this phone. I think we need to go antique shopping more often to see what other cool devices are out there.

Every summer our company sponsors a summer event at SunSplash. This event usually happens every first week of August. All the employees were dismissed by 3:00 pm to prepare for the event.  This would be our 4th year of enjoying this treat.

This year's SunSplash event was held on August 5. The weather that Monday was overcast, cold and drizzling. The rest of the company was praying for sun the next day so we can enjoy the summer event.

Well, the sun never came out. It was cold, over cast and rainy. It didn't prevent the family or the coworkers from going to the event. Kitty had been doing a countdown to SunSplash. And so we went. The last year we went the kids were not proficient in swimming. This time they were. The kids were saying that they can swim around the lazy river.

Post Camping Dirt

It's time to go home now. Sly Park was really pretty. I can see ourselves going back to camp there again, at our own pace. I would like to do more hiking. We saw quite a few hiking trails that I wanted to explore. 

At every camping, dirt is inevitable. Here were are with our filthy faces, arms and legs. Filthy enough that we decided to order Taco Bell for lunch and ate in the car. Kids had fun eating in the car. Taco Bell is their favorite anyway. No amount of money will drag me to even set foot at Taco Bell.

Yum! Tacos! Kitty said that Taco Bell was delicious!

More Dirt!

It was fun! Time to clean up now. 

Time to Go Home

Daddy and the kids were at the Flag Ceremony for the boy scouts. 

So, here I was taking down the tent and all the camping gears that went with it. Two hours later, the barn, the canopy, the sleeping bags, sleeping pads and all our our camping gears were put away and in the car. I still could not believe that  it took 1 person to pack up our things.

Here was the our campsite with all the gears stowed away. I don't want to brag but I was proud of myself to pack all our things by myself.

Here is our Boy Scout. Enjoying everything about camping. Exploring! And having fun!

 John started this new stunt. This activity kept them busy for a while. They had fun as well. Who needs electronic devices when they can be creative enough to play with what rescues they have.

Breakfast Time

This was taken during the community breakfast. We had pancake, fruits and sausage. Food always tastes good when you are outdoors. The kids did enjoy their breakfast. 

Here are some of the kids playing just after breakfast. Most of the boys scouts in our den all have sisters. All the sisters were hanging out with each other. It was fun for Kitty to meet other girls at the campsite.
