The Lei Stand

It has been a tradition that we get our leis when we go to Hawaii. This is the Lei Stand stand that we always go to. Here we are in our leis. Mahalo!

This was taken last year with the family.

We made it!

Honolulu! We made it!

Here we were at the shuttle bus to pick up the rental car.

Itty baby and Kanani waiting patiently as well for the rental car. It is hot and humid at this time.

I have to give in to the kids. Electronic devices were out to keep them company while waiting for the car.

John found Hawaii License plate! We've been playing this game where we are tracking and marking license plates that we find. We found several Hawaii License plate in California and now there everywhere here too. :)

In the plane

Our last travel to the HI, we had the kids sit right next to each other. They seem to do better when they sit next to each other. They seem to have a way of entreating themselves alone. This time we did the same thing too, they were next to each other with their backpacks loaded with stuff that they brought to entertain each other.  Having 2 seats by the window made this convenient as well. There were no arguing who sits by the window. :)

Kitty brought a lot of stuffed animals that kept her busy setting them up, putting blankets on and playing with them. We also placed a lot of snacks for this 5-1/2 hour flight.

The airline provided us with a snack along the way as well.

Kids did their artwork/journal.

On long trips like this, Lego yet again saved the day! When we have long trips like this, I always get the kids Lego as a surprise to them. This may not be a big build for them but it buys us time when the kids start getting tired of sitting in the plane.

At the Airport

The nice things about having a town car service, was the convenience of the family getting dropped off at the terminal. We did not have to take the shuttle service to take us to the terminal. Yet again, another reason to love the the town car service.

There we are getting ready to check in - all suitcase all accounted for, tagged and ready to go!

Kitty helped me out during the check in process.

My little travelers with their packs!

Hawaii!

Rise and shine! Today we woke up early to catch the early flight to Hawaii. Kitty was all packed and ready to go. Itty Baby and Kanani were going to with her as well.

They were both troopers! Waking up at 530 am was not a big deal to them.

Kitty wondered what hair accessory should he use...

At 630 am our vacation started. We arranged for a town car to pick us up to take us to the airport.

I think everyone enjoyed their ride. Thank you Abdul!

Vacation - Starts Today

KFL vacation started at the tail of Summer 2014. The kids had been troopers spending their daily summer vacation to various summer schools. They started at Vacation Bible School  at the beginning of summer where they met most of their classmates. They learned all sorts of bible songs and bible verses. Then they had their Summer Class at their school for 6 weeks. During this time, they were into basketball & soccer. They also had Lego class which were their favorite class ever! Then they also learned to cook, they were in science class and visual art performance class.

Their final vacation school was the Vacation Zone. In here they met new sets of friends and learned all sorts of fun actives. Their first week of Vacation Zone was held at SunSplash. The kids get to ride the school bus for the very first time to go to Sunsplash. Unbeknownst to us, every week the Vacation Zone camp counselors  were giving awards to the best kid for the week. John was the one of the recipient that got the award! We were so proud of John!

Their second week at Vacation Zone was at the Derby. The kids never roller skated in their lives. This would be a first for them. John even said, "Roller skating! This is so not part of my to do list." Despite of that statement, they still enjoyed their first ever Derby.

To top off their Summer Vacation, the KFL scheduled a trip to Hawaii! Kitty was doing a count down on this trip. Today the KFLs were off to Hawaii! Despite of the news of the hurricane in Hawaii, we were still of to Hawaii!

Gramma's Birthday

July 27, 2014

Today was Gramma's Birthday. The kids went to see gramma and took her to lunch at La Trattoria Bohemia. Here were some pics taken during that day.

Right next to the restaurant was an antique store.  I told John that we would check out the antique store after lunch to see if they have some Legos. So we went to the store. As we went in the store, there was a family with kids that went out of the store. When we were in the store, John politely asked the staff if they have legos at the the store. The lady said you just missed the lego by a minute. The family that left just bought the lego that have in the store. The lady said that the Lego they had in the store has been sitting in the store for a couple of years. Then here were 2 interested buyers in just one day.

After that, we were in a search for Legos. We went to several antique stores to hunt for the legos. Unfortunately, we did not find any. Sorry John.

While we were antique shopping, Kitty ran into this device. She was so surprised to find out that it as a phone! I had to explain to her that his was the "iPhone" many many years ago. I have to show her how to use this phone. I think we need to go antique shopping more often to see what other cool devices are out there.
